It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that I share the incredibly sad news of the passing of one of the Founding Fathers of AALEA, Malcolm Woo, Retired Chicago PD.
Malcolm’s unwavering dedication and passionate leadership made an enduring impact on all of us. His commitment to mentorship and enthusiastic support served as a wellspring of inspiration for many within the organization. Malcolm consistently went above and beyond, often traveling long distances, even from out of town, to actively participate in AALEA events, showcasing his unwavering devotion to AALEA.
Malcolm is not only a Founding Father but also a cherished friend, mentor, and brother to me. Over the years, his teachings on perseverance, resilience, compassion, and dedication to the organization and community have been invaluable to me as President. He consistently encouraged me by saying, “No matter how tough it gets, don’t give up and keep fighting. Remember, that’s what AALEA is here for – to support our members and community through thick and thin as one family.”
