As we enter the Memorial Day weekend, most of us have “Cancelled Days-Off” so others can spend time with their families. For some people, Memorial Day weekend only marks the unofficial start of summer, BBQ and a three-day weekend to party and get drunk. But for those who have lost loved ones to war, it can mean visits to the cemetery and the re-emergence of grief and pain. Let’s together and commemorate those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to make us safe. Let’s also take this opportunity to thank those of you who have served and also who are currently serving our great nation. On behalf of the AALEA Executive Board and Chairs, we wish you a Safe Memorial Day weekend. As always, we are proud of what you do.
