The Asian American Law Enforcement Association (AALEA) holds its ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET every year. Proceeds from this event help to fund the Trooper Chong Soo Lim Scholarship awards which will be awarded to three qualified candidates of the Asian American community at the AALEA Awards Dinner. On June 05, 1995, Trooper Chong Soo Lim was the first Asian officer killed in the line of duty in Illinois. He made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of his duties and is the reason we so honorably name this scholarship in his memory.
